Anushka is an actress as well as a producer in Bollywood. She is acclaimed for her acting and as one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood. Then she was a part of three movies for Yash Raj Films. The role she played was that of the bride, who was young and tied to a man who was middle aged (the persona Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was a part of the cast along with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the movie Badmash Company. The film received mixed review. Anushka Sharma was the lead in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat. The actress played an Punjabi woman in the middle classes who runs her own wedding company. This movie was well received and became a sleeper. With Band Baaja Baaraat Anushka's three-film agreement under the Yash Raj Films banner was final.
